After the punching incident, I bet the Clippers were already a bit reluctant when they offered the big contract to Griffin. I think that was also partly due to the fact that Chris Paul was also contemplating leaving, so they had no choice but to keep Griffin. And now, after another confrontation with the Rockets players, this is the last nail and that triggered the trade.
With Patrick Beverley & Avery Bradley, they are certainly trying to build a good defensive team. They will also likely put more emphasis on 3-point shooting too. No more strong front court.
P.S. I imagine that BG must be rather unhappy about the move (from LA to Detroit ). There is no comparison. 作者: 楊子銘 時間: 2018-1-30 12:17 PM
This is not a bad trade for the Clippers. When CP3 forced a trade back then, they lost the best ball passer PG in the league, so Griffin's ball passing ability became even more important, so they offered him a big contract to keep him (Doc Rivers might be afraid that the team might play badly and costed him his job too). Now that the team is not playing well, West/Frank have convinced Ballmer that the team needs to rebuild.
The current trend is definitely long range shooting so that's where they are heading. They have good defenders in Beverley/Bradley, but they also have some poor defenders too (e.g Gallinari/Teodosic etc.), so they still have a long way to go.
All in all, I think the Pistons are more likely to be the loser in this trade.
BTW, Kendall Jenner Kardashian says she is happy that Griffin is traded, as she will eventually break up with him anyway. Now the trade makes it easier. Ha, ha 作者: jschappi 時間: 2018-1-30 10:17 PM
